Who can get a card
Anyone residing in Erath County and surrounding communities may obtain a free library card. 

How to Get Your Card
Present  two proofs of address and a valid Texas drivers license or Texas photo ID.  Children under 18 require signature of parent or legal guardian. There is a $3.00 charge to replace a lost library card.

Borrowing Limits
A Patron is allowed to borrow only one (1) item on first visit. After the library card has been processed, patron may borrow up to 5 items per person or a total of 15 items per card. Only 3 movies per family are allowed . All books and audio are checked out for 14 days with one (1) renewal. New books , reserved books and bestsellers cannot be renewed. Videos and DVDs may be borrowed for 3 days.

Placing Holds
A Patron is allowed to place 5 holds on library materials. Holds may be placed by phone, in person or on the web site. The library will contact you by phone or email when the requested item is ready to be picked up. Reserves are held for only 48 hours.

Renewing Your Borrowed Items
Materials may be renewed by phone, on the library web site or at the library.

Library Fines
The library charges 25 cents per day for overdues books and audios and $1.75 a day for overdue movies. There is an outdoor book drop located on the front sidewalk for the return of books; however to be sure that you are not accessed fines, please return books inside library.

The outside book drop is checked before noon opening each day and 5 minutes before closing. Any materials placed in drop after hours or on weekends will be fined for each day.  

The borrower must pay for or replace all damaged or lost materials. Anyone owing $5.00 in fines or who has fines over 90 days old may not check out additonal library materials until all fines are cleared.

TexShare Card
Valid card holders free of fines are eligible to receive a TexShare card, which gives you borrowing privileges at many other public and academic libraries in Texas.  Your TexShare card must be renewed annually.
