Janella has volunteered at the Dublin Public Library for over 30 years. She says that "In the early days, everyone did a bit of everything." This is her second round of serving on the Library Board.  She is a past vice-president and past systems representative for the board.

Janella researched and set up the genealogy room and work in that room since the opening of the new library.  She states, "Hopefully, it serves as a good place for local people to research their roots;  as depository/collection of information for the preservation of  local history and the history of people who have roots in Dublin."

Janella is a member of Friends of the Library and the Erath County Genealogical Society. She also has served as past president of the Genealogical Society.
